HRIT (High Rate Information Transmission) service
HRIT (High Rate Information Transmission) service is suited for MDUS (Medium-scale Data Utilization Station). The standard technical specification for HRIT is provided by the CGMS (Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites). The satellite converts the observed data into HRIT video format data after putting it through radiometric and geometric calibration processes and then transmits it. LRIT (Low Rate Information Transmission) service is suited for SDUS (Small-scale Data Utilization Station).
