Introduction

The Direct Broadcast Network (DBNet) aims to provide near real-time access to near-global data from low earth orbit (LEO) satellites to meet the timeliness requirements of regional and global numerical weather prediction (NWP) and other applications in a cost-efficient manner.
The goal of the DBNet activity is to provide NWP centers with ATOVS data received from DBNet direct readout stations within 30 minutes of data acquisition.
DBNet is expanding the regional ATOVS retransmission services (RARS) concept to other data types in support of a wide range of applications.
The current and potential DBNet services are listed below.

Introduction
Categories of Services Services(Instruments)
IR/MW sounding ATOVS(AMSU-A, MHS, HIRS), ATMS, VASS(MWTS/2, MWHS/2, IRAS)
IR/VIS imaging VIIRS, AVHRR, MERSI
Hyperspectral IR sounding CrIS, IASI, HIRAS, AIRS
Scatterometry ASCAT, Wind RAD
MW imagery MWRI

KMA Contribution to DBNet

The service offered by Jincheon site to the DBNet community consists of:
- ATOVS(AMSU-A, MHS, HIRS) data of NOAA-18, NOAA-19, METOP-1(B), METOP-2(A)
- IASI data of METOP-1(B), METOP-2(A)
- ATMS and CrIS data of S-NPP
